THE SCDIO
Created in 2000 by South Development NGO, the Sickle Cell Disease International Organisation (SCDIO) strategic goal is to act and work to reduce mortality and morbidity impacts inherent to the Sickle Cell Disease.

Since its creation and in close collaboration with the countries of Europe, America, Middle East and Africa, but also in partnership with various international organizations (UNESCO, WHO, OIF ...), SCDIO initiated several resolutions that recognize sickle cell disease as a public health priority or problem by international institutions. Thanks to the support of three states in particular: Senegal, Congo and France.

International Platform for maximizing impact in the fight against SCD:

• The purpose of SCDIO is to work and act as a global catalyst and facilitator of achievements, in harmony and in partnership with public and private organizations, states and civil society entities that are making complementary programs.
• Programs are implemented with voluntary partners in order to obtain concrete achievements. They are professionally prepared so as to have optimized, concrete and valuable results.

Main Objectives

1 – Significant Reduction mortality and morbidity rates of children affected by the
2 – Significant Reduction of negative impacts on patients and their family
3 – Optimization of means and scarce resources available worldwide to intensify achievement of substantial results in the fight against the Sickle Cell Disease
4- Improvement of sickle cell patients daily monitoring
5- Accelerate efforts and effectiveness of research
